In 2005 Lehigh Valley McDonald's owner-operator and motorcycle enthusiast
Mike Fountaine founded Bike Nights at McDonald's to provide a venue for
motorcyclists to showcase their bikes and raise money for the Ronald McDonald
Camp. The first Bike Night at McDonald's was held on July 24, 2005 and the
event has grown each year both in the number of participants, sponsors and funds
raised for the charity. Bike Nights at McDonald's has become the premier Bike
Night event in the Lehigh Valley. Since its inception, Bike Nights at
McDonald's has raised over $15,000. Fundraising initiatives include:
sponsorship packages, the sale of commemorative lapel pins, registration fees
for bikes in the judging area, people's choice donations, and a $1 donation from
the owner-operator for each bike that comes out to the event they host.
